I'm sure this incident -- which comes after hundreds of headstones were toppled earlier this month at a Jewish cemetery in Missouri -- has nothing to do with the fact that the president's top adviser ran a "news" site geared toward white supremacists. Read HERE.

Dog-Whistler-in-Chief Finally Addresses Attacks on Jews

Gee, I wonder what Trump supporters hear when he says "the media" is the enemy? It's not like they sent pictures of ovens to Jewish journalists for the past 24 months. 

And to be honest I'm surprised he addressed the issue at all today, given his eloquent words about it last week: 

Mr. Trump's statement follows a week in which Jews and civil rights groups had pressed him to directly address the recent wave of anti-Semitic incidents. When asked how the government would address an uptick in anti-Semitism at a press conference last week, Mr. Trump spoke about his electoral college victory and his Jewish family members. Later in the week, he told a reporter from a Jewish publication who asked about anti-Semitism to sit down.

Elie Wiesel, Auschwitz Survivor and Nobel Prize Winner, Is Dead at 87

The New York Times reports that Elie Wiesel, the Auschwitz survivor who became an eloquent witness for the six million Jews slaughtered in World War II and who, more than anyone else, seared the memory of the Holocaust on the world’s conscience, died on Saturday at his home in Manhattan. He was 87.

Will never forget reading "Night" as a (too young?) child, Wiesel's autobiographical account of the horrors he witnessed in the camps as a 15-year-old boy. He wrote of how he had been plagued by guilt for having survived while millions died, and tormented by doubts about a God who would allow such slaughter:

“Never shall I forget that night, the first night in camp, which has turned my life into one long night, seven times cursed and seven times sealed,” Mr. Wiesel wrote. “Never shall I forget that smoke. Never shall I forget the little faces of the children, whose bodies I saw turned into wreaths of smoke beneath a silent blue sky. Never shall I forget those flames which consumed my faith forever. Never shall I forget the nocturnal silence which deprived me, for all eternity, of the desire to live. Never shall I forget those moments which murdered my God and my soul and turned my dreams to dust. Never shall I forget these things, even if I am condemned to live as long as God himself. Never.”

Never shall we forget his words. RIP.

Chicago’s WGN-TV apologizes for using yellow star Nazi symbol in report on Yom Kippur 

WGN-TV in Chicago is apologizing for running an image of a Nazi symbol during a report on the highest Jewish holiday of the year. The image was displayed on the screen Tuesday as anchor Tom Negovan spoke about the Jewish Day of Atonement, Yom Kippur. The display of the image of a yellow star patch that the Nazis forced Jews in Europe to wear during World War II created a flurry of comments on social media and WGN responded with an apology. In the statement, WGN General manager Greg Easterly and News Director Jennifer Lyons says the station “failed to recognize that the artwork we chose to accompany the story contained an offensive symbol.” Easterly and Lyons says they were embarrassed and were investigating how the symbol was used. --Associated Press
