Dead Serial Bombing Suspect in Austin Railed on Homosexuality, Abortion

Relieved to see that this murderous lunatic has finally been stopped. Why am I not surprised to read that he's an angry white man who was home-schooled and has a lot of opinions about gay people and women's reproductive rights?

The suspect in the deadly bombings that terrorized Austin blew himself up early Wednesday as authorities closed in on him, bringing a grisly end to a three-week manhunt. But police warned that more bombs could be out there.

The young man behind the attacks was identified as Mark Anthony Conditt, an unemployed 24-year-old who bought bomb-making materials at Home Depot. His motive remained a mystery, along with whether he acted alone in the five bombings in the Texas capital and suburban San Antonio that killed two people and wounded four others.

Police zeroed in on Conditt using store surveillance video, cellphone signals and witness accounts of a strange-looking customer making purchases while wearing a disguise that included a blonde wig and gloves.

Officers located his vehicle at a hotel on Interstate 35 in the suburb of Round Rock. Officers were waiting for armored vehicles to arrive before moving in for an arrest when his vehicle began to drive away, Austin Police Chief Brian Manley said at a news conference.

Authorities followed the vehicle, which ran into a ditch on the side of the road, he said.

When members of the SWAT team approached, the suspect detonated an explosive device inside the vehicle, the police chief said.

A law enforcement official provided the dead man's name. The official, who has been briefed on the investigation, spoke to The Associated Press on the condition of anonymity because the official was not authorized to discuss the case publicly.

Investigators released few details about Conditt, except his age and that he was white. Online postings indicate he was home schooled. He later attended Austin Community College from 2010 to 2012, according to a college spokeswoman, but he did not graduate.

In posts dated from 2012, a blogger who identified himself as Mark Conditt of suburban Pflugerville wrote that gay marriage should be illegal and that homosexuality is "not natural.". He also called for the elimination of sex offender registrations and argued in favor of the death penalty. In addition, he railed on the government providing women with free abortions, saying, "If a woman does not want a baby, or is incapable of taking care of one, she should not participate in activities that were made for that reason."

Of gay marriage, Conditt wrote: "Homosexuality is not natural. Just look at the male and female bodies. They are obviously designed to couple."

'Jenny Jones Murderer' Set to Walk Free for Premeditated Killing of Gay Man

Disgusted to read in the Daily News that the Michigan man who shot and killed his best friend after the pal revealed on a TV show that he had a crush on him is expected to be released from prison.

Jonathan Schmitz, dubbed the "Jenny Jones" killer, was sentenced to 25 to 50 years in prison for the 1995 murder of Scott Amedure. Schmitz, 47, was granted parole in March and will be released from the Parnall Correctional Institution next week, the Detroit Free Press reports. A specific release date has not been revealed. Schmitz was 24 when he appeared on "The Jenny Jones Show," for an episode titled "Same-Sex Secret Crushes." Amedure, 32, was on the show to tell Schmitz that he liked him. Schmitz did not know what producers were up to and believed his secret crush was a woman. Three days after the show taped, Schmitz fatally shot Amedure in his Lake Orion home. Schmitz turned himself in, telling authorities that he had been embarrassed on national television, the outlet reports. Producers on the daytime talk show decided not to air the episode following the crime, but a clip showing Amedure's confession played on news shows.

What makes this so sickening is that Schmitz was only convicted of SECOND-degree murder despite the fact that he drove to the bank to get cash, drove to a store to ammunition, then drove to another to buy a shutgun -- pausing to go home to assemble the weapon -- before driving to Amedure's home and shooting him twice at point-blank range as his roommate looked on in horror. If that doesn't demonstrate premeditation, what does?

Here's hoping the "Love Pains" put her on the straight and narrow.

I thought Ryan Ferguson's body was incredible when he got out of prison after serving 10 years for a murder he didn't commit. But it seems he's only getting better with age -- despite what he wrote on Instagram -- looking incredible after hosting season one of MTV's "Unlocking the Truth," which has already led to the release of one wrongfully convicted man.

Gay Real Estate Broker’s Ex-Assistant Claims Her Boss Forced Her to Pick Up Drugs, Listen to Anal Sex

The Daily News delivers again, with this doozy of a story about Jared Seligman, whose clients have reportedly included James Franco, Kirsten Dunst, Tommy Hilfiger's daughter Ally and more! 

A Botox-using real estate broker tormented his personal assistant by making her listen to him having loud sex and buy him drugs, a new lawsuit alleges.  

Douglas Elliman's Jared Seligman — who "reigns among the highest producing brokers in Manhattan and within the Country," according to the firm — hired Amy Gagnon in May 2016.  

When she took the job, Gagnon knew working as a personal assistant to a well-heeled broker would mean "putting up with indignities that most people never have to experience” — but hoped it would help her break into the industry.  

“What Ms. Gagnon did not know, and could not possibly anticipate, is that the price she was asked to pay in exchange for this experience would require her to partake in the sexual predilections and illegal activity of her boss," Gagnon's lawsuit, filed Monday in Manhattan Federal Court, alleges.

Seligman made Gagnon work from his apartment on a day his doctor was scheduled to come over “for his Botox injections," the suit says. During the appointment, Seligman allegedly told the doctor: “I want your d--- in my face' and 'Oooooh you’re so sexy,” the court documents charge. "Mr. Seligman then began to roughly grope the doctor in front of Ms. Gagnon, gabbing his crotch," court papers say. 

On another occasion, Gagnon was made to work from Seligman’s home, when a "strange man" came over. The two men then went into a bedroom and “engaged in loud and unmistakable sexual intercourse.”  

Seligman must have known Gagnon could overhear his "raucous" romp because of the close quarters “and wanted her to do so," according to her lawyers, Jeanne Christensen and Renan Varghese of Wigdor LLP. “In fact, Mr. Seligman left little doubt about his intentions when, shortly after the other man left, Mr. Seligman came out of his room wearing nothing but his bathrobe and smirked at Ms. Gagnon,” the civil complaint maintains.

A Real Bowling Green Attack

The Daily News reports that a "man" was arrested Thursday for kicking a woman who is eight months pregnant in the stomach during an argument on a crowded subway train in Lower Manhattan. The only thing surprising about this disgusting story is that the attacker wasn't her partner, the kind of crime that is a million times more likely to happen than being harmed by a refugee.

Subway performers definitely can be a nuisance. (A guy who didn't know how to play the saxophone blew one in my ears from 23rd to Rock Center last week, helping me attain my lifelong goal of being partially deaf.) But I'm not sure telling them off is worth getting punched in the face -- especially one as handsome as 40-year-old David Giaconne's! 

Man Charged in Cold-Case Murder of Gay Teen in Brooklyn

Been blogging about the gruesome murder of gay teenager Rashawn Brazell for more than 10 years -- I'd see his sweet face on posters around the city and become angry all over again -- and am so pleased a man has finally been charged. 

The New York Post reports:

Cops have finally nabbed a suspect in the gruesome 2005 slaying of a gay Brooklyn teen whose body was dismembered and dumped around the city, but the man insisted in court Wednesday that he couldn’t have committed the crime — because he “can’t even dissect a frog.” Kwauhuru Govan, 38, who was already locked up on another slay rap involving a Brooklyn girl a year earlier, was arrested at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Rikers Island on a charge of second-degree murder for the slaying of 19-year-old Rashawn Brazell, sources said. The severed limbs of Brazell, an aspiring website designer, were found on subway tracks Feb. 17, 2005 — three days after he disappeared — prompting fears at the time that there was a killer transit worker on the loose. A transit worker made the gruesome discovery inside a blue plastic bag. Brazell’s torso turned up at a recycling plant six days later. His head was never found. On the last day Brazell was seen alive, he told people he was meeting a tax preparer, but cops have said that may have been a ruse. Govan was nabbed as the result of a Brooklyn Supreme Court indictment and DNA linked him to the crime, sources said.

Rashawn will never come home, but here's hoping his family can finally find a modicum of peace knowing the monster police say committed this heinous crime is off the street..

Mug Shot Tuesday

Shocker -- when you look like this and were a star athlete, you can get bail ... even if you're accused of first-degree murder, aggravated stalking, tampering with evidence and employing a firearm during a dangerous felony.

The Daily News reports:

The former Maryville college football player who allegedly stalked then murdered a teenage Central High cheerleader has been released from jail on $1 million bond.

William Riley Gaul, 18, was discharged from the Knox County Detention Facility Monday after posting the bail, according to the Know County Sheriff’s Office.

Gaul was arrested on Nov. 22, a day after police allege he stole his grandfather’s gun to shoot and kill his ex-girflriend Emma Walker, 16, while she was asleep in her bedroom.

“She had chosen to move on. He refused to accept it. He chose not to accept her wishes.” 

The suspect was indicted on several charges last week, including first-degree murder, aggravated stalking, tampering with evidence and employing a firearm during a dangerous felony. Gaul has not entered a plea to his charges.

Actor Judge Reinhold Arrested on Disorderly Conduct Charge at Dallas Love Field

The Dallas Morning News reports: 

Actor Judge Reinhold was arrested Thursday afternoon on a charge of disorderly conduct at Dallas Love Field. Reinhold, 59, was selected by TSA agents for a random pat-down around 2 p.m., according to an official at the city-owned airport, and he was not happy about it. He was told he could be taken to a private screening room, but refused -- and then became belligerent, officials say. At that point, Dallas police were called in. Officers again tried to get him to calm down, but he was again antagonistic toward officers, authorities say. They decided enough was enough and arrested him. Dallas police have not confirmed the arrest, but a spokesman said the department hopes to release further information this afternoon.

Any locals know what went down at 21st/7th at the Espresso Matto (formerly Filicori Zecchini)? My source -- a man who screams expletives from his wheelchair at passersby and asked to remain anonymous because of the sensitivity of the matter -- says he heard an employee (who was a "nasty bitch" to him over a tuna sandwich in the past) had been sexually assaulted. Then he paused and said he thinks it's more likely someone was murdered. 

Normally I would assume it was something related to not paying rent ...

Robert Wone's Suspected Killers: Where Are They Now?

The Washington Blade follows up its piece on the 10-year anniversary of the murder of Robert Wone, whose polyamorous suspected killers have never been convicted of a single crime.

On June 29, 2010, D.C. resident and prominent attorney Joseph Price, his domestic partner Victor Zaborsky, and their friend, housemate and reported lover Dylan Ward were found not guilty of charges linking them to the August 2006 murder of Washington attorney Robert Wone. The three had been indicted in 2008 on charges of evidence tampering, obstruction of justice and conspiracy to obstruct justice in connection with the Wone case, but no murder charges were brought due to lack of sufficient evidence, police said. Wone, a friend of the three men who was straight, was found stabbed to death in the guest bedroom of the townhouse where the three men lived near Dupont Circle. Wone had been spending the night there after working late at his D.C. office, the men told police. The men also told police they believed an intruder killed Wone after entering the house through an unlocked back door while they were asleep in their respective bedrooms. Homicide detectives and prosecutors disputed that claim, saying forensic evidence showed Wone appeared to have been immobilized by a paralytic drug, sexually assaulted, and stabbed three times in the chest and abdomen with no signs of a struggle.
