Former Wimbledon Champion Jana Novotna Dies at 49

This makes me incredibly sad. Will never forget watching the 1993 Wimbledon final with my brothers, Bill and Terence, in a motel room in Pottsville, Pa., on the morning I was "meeting" my father for the first time in 20 years, having not seen him since he was institutionalized following his traumatic brain injury when I was 6. I was thrilled that my girl Steffi Graf rallied from 4-1 -- or Jana Novotna collapsed at 4-1 up -- but Jana's moment with the Duchess of Kent forever made me a fan. So happy her dream came true five years later. Cancer ruins everything. RIP, sweet Jana.

Yuengling Passive-Aggressive Brew

Was tickled to see my dad's hometown, Pottsville, Pa., on the home page of the New York Times. But as I watched this video about the family running America's oldest brewery, I got increasingly uncomfortable realizing the main thing brewing there is a lifetime of resentment and hostility. Can't imagine they're happy with that.
