'I Really Miss the City, and There's Nowhere Here to Cry About It in Public'
I have a recurring dream (aka nightmare) where I've moved away from New York -- usually to "finish" my college degree (that I already have).
So this StreetEasy ad campaign I saw on the 1 train en route to work this afternoon really touched a nerve -- to say nothing of my funny bone!
This one's my favorite! ☝
Tennis Tuesday
Mick Assaf -- aka Peyton Stearns's gorgeous GOAT -- is back, this time in Rome trying his hand at being a ballboy. But from the looks of things, the 5-foot-11, 215-pound former running back for the University of Notre Dame is all man. More to lust BELOW.

Remains of the Day (05/12)
The Guardian: How "Queer as Folk" helped Joe Stone come out
The Advocate: Gay man's face "peeled off" in knife attack; police won't charge his confessed attacker
Boy Culture: I'm 100% convinced I need to see David Dean Bottrell's "Teenage Wasteland: Thirteen, Fourteen, Fifteen"
GCN: At Stonewall, electeds and advocates demand release of gay asylum seeker Andry Hernández Romero
Hulu: We just finished Jack Rooke's semiautobiographical "Big Boys," which follows a closeted gay guy's college experience befriending a slightly older straight re-entry student. Everyone's tastes are different, but I'd be surprised if you didn't find this one as moving as I did. (Try to not read too much as spoilers abound.)
Greg in Hollywood: Colton Haynes posts 35 self-portraits
Ask a Cleveland Therapist: Gay and blowing his "straight" friend
Hot Kitty of the Day: Where does one acquire such a cat bed?
Song of the Day: When Blondie performed "Fan Mail"(!) on "TopPop"
Last Friday Night: Vicki Peterson and hubby John Cowsill kicked off our weekend with a show at the Cutting Room that was entertaining and at times deeply moving. Although they performed fun arrangements of Bangles classics "Manic Monday" and "Walk Like an Egyptian" as well as the Cowsills' groovy cover of "Hair," it was songs from their new collaborative LP -- featuring covers of songs written by two of John's uber-talented late brothers, about whom speaking brought him to tears -- that were the highlight of the night. Check out "A Thousand Times" or "Come to Me" to see what I mean and catch them on tour if you get the chance. Tour info HERE.
A Second Sundays First
Damian and I took advantage of the beautiful weather -- and the fact that we celebrated Mother's Day on Saturday -- by attending Second Sunday, a monthly gay outing in Central Park's Sheep Meadow. Although it was my first time attending the sanctioned event, it was a bittersweet experience that took me back to the late 1990s when my late friend Larry Brickman and I would go the park every weekend to check out boys. (It's not a coincidence that Second Sundays are located where they are -- that was always where the boys are!) As you can see , the atmosphere is as friendly as it is titillating. (Damian, who was eager to even out his Monte Carlo farmer's tan[!], ran into a grad school friend he hadn't seen in over a decade and I even recognized people from my G Lounge days.) There's something special about being surrounded by your peers -- and for gay people, it's unique when drugs and alcohol aren't involved as is often the case in bars and clubs. More photos BELOW.

Remains of the Day (05/09)
Attitude: English singer/songwriter Calum Scott says he was abandoned by friends after coming out as gay. (So does THIS count as a "revenge bod"?)
The Randy Report: Salt Lake City and Boise make Pride flags official city emblems, skirting flag ban laws
NBC News: Woman indicted after claiming former "Bachelor" star Clayton Echard, got her pregnant. Ironically, I actually did pull a Billy Crystal rabbit test when I saw Clayton barely wearing THIS.
Phonogenics 101: Discussing Deborah Harry's "Debravation" track by track
Saturday 'Stache: Jude Law’s mustache is the real star of "The Order"
Queerty: Get a new look at our secret gay history through rare photos from vintage “beefcake” magazines
MetroWeekly: D.C. opens its first LGBT senior housing community
Speedo Sunday: Imagine seeing him at a hotel pool
Hot Cat of the Day: Someone's a lap cat!
Song of the Day: I had never heard of one-minor-hit-wonder Cee Farrow (1956-1993) until I saw him featured on the AIDS Memorial Page in a write-up by Jackie Beat. (The loss of life will be forever staggering.) "Should I Love You" (1983) reminds me a bit of Ebn Ozn's "AEIOU and Sometimes Y," which came out the same year. Farrow's little-heard 1991 "comeback" single, "Imagination," might even be better.
Coming soon: New Yorkers, tickets now on sale for a one-week run of "Rebel With a Clause" at the nonprofit New Plaza Cinema on the Upper West Side. Twenty-three screenings from May 22–28, so you can enjoy your grammar day and night. Grammar Lady Ellen Jovin and filmmaker Brandt Johnson will be there for a Q&A after a number of the screenings, as indicated on the ticketing page HERE.

Remains of the Day (05/07)
Eurovision 2025: Will Go-Jo’s “Milkshake Man” bring all the voters to the yard?
Wrestle Wednesday: When your team votes you "most popular"
NBC News: It's always rubbed me the wrong way how gay characters on television always seem to end up having sex with women. (When Jodie Dallas wasn't busy plotting his "sex change" operation he was bedding every chick on "Soap," and even Matt Bomer got some pussy on "Mid-Century Modern" ... in 2025.) But if Barry Diller's way of finally coming out as gay is to announce that he has a completely satisfying romantic and sexual relationship with wife Diane von Furstenberg, far be it for me to criticize. Maybe this phenomenon is more common than I realize, even if I've never come across it once in real life in my nearly 40 years of gaydom. (And sorry, but unlike Diller, David Gest, Joshua Sasse, Jim Hart, Mr. Garbiñe Muguruza et al., not even celebrity diva worship could get this homo going in the boudoir.)
Washington Blade: Smithsonian National Museum of African Art delays LGBT Pride exhibit
Hot Cat of the Day: Not to be outdone by the emotional-support kitty on "St. Denis Medical," this little cutie stole the scene from Susan Saint James on an episode of "Kate & Allie," which is streaming on Roku and is somehow even better than I remember from my childhood.

Autostraddle: The most anticipated LGBT books for May 2025 /// WWII-era LGBT history inspired debut novel
The Guardian: Gay nude beach in Australia under threat
Washington Blade: Brazilian police arrest two men who allegedly targeted Lady Gaga concert
Hot Cat of the Day: It's easy for me to remember the day I officially went out on my own -- became an adult? -- because I left Phoenix for Los Angeles on May 5, 1990. My heart was broken in 17 places and job prospects in Arizona were grim, so I packed up my VW Rabbit and crashed with my friend Mark until I could get a place of my own. A job at the Orange County Register came quickly. But my desire to live in New York City prevented me from ever feeling truly at home, so three years later I headed East -- first to Washington and then finally to Manhattan -- and have been at home ever since.
Cut a Bitch: If you're in the New York area, you won't want to miss Alison Arngrim's hilarious "Confessions of a Prairie Bitch," coming this Sunday to the Cutting Room. I caught it some 15 years ago and thought it was one of the funniest shows I've ever seen! Tickets HERE.
Picture This: Michael Des Barres shared this photo from legendary music producer Mike Chapman's recent wedding, with the caption:
Clearly in the presence of the brilliant Debbie Harry is rock ‘n’ roll at its finest. We were both at Mike Chapman and his beautiful wife Maddy‘s wedding party in London a few weeks ago. It was lovely to see London again and to be in the presence of two people who love each other…
Accompanying the wonderful Deborah Harry to Mike and Maddy Chapman's wedding at St. James Palace chapel this weekend.
Debbie famously referred to Chapman in a 1999 interview as being a "dictator"(!).
