Big Bottom Is Watching You

I noticed my Facebook app wasn't working last night, but just assumed it was yet another)momentary glitch. Then I woke up to find messages from hurt friends, wondering why I had abandoned them. It didn't take more than a few minutes for me to backtrack and remember that I had posted a link to a Wikipedia page about "Top, bottom and versatile," which featured an illustration of two men having anal sex and figure out my account had been shut down. Given Facebook's track record with the gays in the past, I told a friend that I'd bet that was the trigger -- and sure enough I just logged on to the proper site to see the above message. Now I don't know if this was another hypersensitive algorithm or if Facebook truly is this prudish, but this might be its most cartoonish display of homophobia to date.

Thumbs Down

I get some of these complaints. What I don't get is people who allow social media to overtake their lives. If you don't like what it's doing for you, just step away. (Via Romenesko)
