P.S. Was anyone at the 25th anniversary celebration of Unitard last night at Joe's Pub? Congrats to Nora Burns, Mike Albo and David Ilku!

Social Awareness
As much as I agree with my mom that social media has destroyed society, it's nice to remember the upside, too. Yesterday Ricki Lake popped up on an episode of "Kate & Allie" and it was fun to see that Ricki had viewed my Instagram story about it, even if she didn't HEART it. (WTF?!!!)
Meanwhile ...
My friend Mark -- who shares my obsession with the film "Little Darlings" (1980) -- received a comment from Krista Errickson, who stars in a memorable scene he posted on YouTube!
These are just two small examples -- one of Johnny Cash's kids and a Go-Go befriended me via Twitter -- the list of which goes on and on.

When Frank and Mia Got Married
Dear Prudence: I’d like to introduce you to my Auntie Mame.
These delightful Sinatra-Farrow wedding-party photos got me thinking about Mia's younger sister Prudence -- who was born Jan. 20, 1948, in Los Angeles to film director John Farrow and actress Maureen O'Sullivan. Prudence Anne Villiers Farrow Bruns is an author, meditation teacher and film producer.
From left: Rosalind Russell, Patrick Farrow (brother) and wife Susan, Mia and Prudence
Prudence Farrow (front left) with Ringo Starr (center) and Paul McCartney (right) and their wives at an Indian ashram in March 1968.
She was the subject of the Beatles song "Dear Prudence," which references her time studying Transcendental Meditation in Rishikesh, India, with the Beatles in early 1968.
Prudence Farrow and Robert Durst
What many don't know is that like Mia, she also has great taste in men -- having been Robert Durst's other woman at the time first wife Kathie McCormack Durst "went missing" in 1982, never to be seen or heard from again.
The New York Post reports that she too was married (to Albert Morrill Bruns) during the three-year affair and lived in a Durst-family-owned brownstone on West 43rd Street.
Prudence Farrow (far left) -- seen here with the Beatles, Maharishi Mahesh Yogi and others in March 1968 -- recalls her interactions with the Fab Four in her memoir, 'Dear Prudence.'
“Prudence wanted Kathie to give Bob up,” Eleanor Schwank, a college friend of Kathie’s, told the tabloid in June 1982. She wanted him all to herself, friends said. Prudence is lucky Kathie refused as she might be one of the few women to be intimate with Durst who lived to tell about it.
Although Durst was never charged in his first wife's disappearance and was acquitted even after admitting dismembering onetime roommate Morris Black in 2003, the real-estate heir was convicted in 2021 of murdering longtime friend Susan Berman and sentenced to life imprisonment without parole, at which point Woody Allen probably started to look pretty good.

2024 Year in Review
If you're anything like me, you desperately wish you had a social-media intern to keep up with all that stuff. But at the end of the year it is nice to reflect on the fruits of your labor, as seen here on my Instagram Top Nine.
Follows always appreciated HERE.

Put on a Happy Face
Not sure why but everyone seems to be talking about Bluesky again, so I've just joined HERE.
Currently I'm most active on Threads over HERE.
As far as "replacing" the erstwhile Twitter, right now it kind of feels like we're in the Betamax vs. VHS or Blu-ray vs. HD DVD (High Density Digital Versatile Disc) phase -- with a splash of LaserDisc -- so I'm hedging my bets since it's not clear which, if either, will come out on top.

Social Misfit
According to a recent article I read in The Wall Street Journal, "blog audiences migrated to social media in the 2010s." (Ouch.)
How do I put this tactfully? I am a bit old-school, as are many of my readers. (I've heard from many of you who also lament the death of the daily email Google used to provide of my site.) But if you'd like to see me at least attempt to enter the 2010s, feel free to follow me on INSTAGRAM or THREADS!
As thanks, you have my word that I will never start a podcast.

Year in Review
Although Hamas and Russia put a catastrophic damper on the global scene, my year was filled with lots of laughs and lots of love. (Something it took me 40+ years to truly learn: You can only control what you can control -- and your ability to be happy is one of those things.) Here's hoping 2024 doesn't pull a fast one. Follow me on Instagram HERE and Threads HERE.
