Daniel Craig Does INTERVIEW

Hunky Daniel Craig gets shirtless for Interview magazine, although there's no money shot like this risque moment from a few years ago.

Page 1 Consider (03/28)

  • Crush Groove: Sorry, folks. It doesn't matter how many times respected publications write this imaginary "men having crushes on men" story, it still doesn't make it true. Get your gay fantasies somewhere else, Adam Rapoport. (GQ) See also: The Man Date (NYT)
  • Redecorating the Frat House: New York University’s Inter-Greek Council has allowed Delta Lambda Phi, a gay and bisexual fraternity, to be recognized on campus after a three-semester trial period. (NYP)
  • Southern Style: The bill to bar gays and lesbians from adopting or being foster parents to children was posed to the Arkansas House of Representatives Judiciary Committee twice on Tuesday, and both times failed. Finally, the smart people rule! (ArkansasBlog)
  • Diagnosis: Karma: I would never wish bad health news on anyone, but if someone has to have a recurrence of cancer, White House spokesdick Tony Snow sure seems like a fair choice. (WP)

  • Your Cheatin' Pedophilic Heart: Big girl Wynonna Judd filed for divorce on Tuesday after her husband was arrested on what police said were sexual battery charges involving a child under 13. Is it just me or does it seem 50 percent of all men want to have sex with children? Oh, well: it sounds like someone's got a hit song in the making on her hands. (Reuters)
  • Hangman: Are we supposed to feel something for a kid who has reformed himself since nearly dying playing a self-choking game? (NYT)
  • Area Satirists Launch TV Show: The Onion is one of the funniest things I've ever read. But will a online TV version work? (Newsweek)
  • Virginia Is for (Gun) Lovers: Wouldn't it be more surprising if someone from Virginia weren't carrying a loaded handgun into the U.S. Capitol? (WP)

  • Don't Cry for Him, Argentina: First David Nalbandian had Roger Federer's number and now it appears Guillermo Canas has it. The steroid-abusing Argentine stunned King Roger for the second time in 15 days, 7-6 (7- 2), 2-6, 7-6 (7-5) in the fourth round Tuesday at the Miami Masters. Meanwhile, Serena Williams humiliated Maria Sharapova, 6-1, 6-1, in a match that looked remarkably similar to this year's Australian Open final. Naturally, Serena hasn't played a tournament since and was no worse for the non-wear (or something) (AP)
  • Does This Sperm Count? For the love of Valerie Cherish, I did not need to see this. (Reuters)
  • Victoria's Understatement: A man who was charged with theft and burglary after police said they found 93 pounds of women's panties, brassieres and other underwear (more than 1,500 items) at his home says he has "a problem." Gee, do ya think?? (AP)

  • Glazed and Confused: Is this why there's a lot more Rachael Ray again these days? (PRN)

  • It's Still Rock 'n' Roll to Me: Another group of musicians was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (who proofread that name?!) last night at the Waldorf-Astoria hotel, including all-time (212) favorites the Ronettes and R.E.M. Sadly, even on this huge occasion artists never seem to put aside their differences for a night (the Ronettes pretended Phil Spector never existed, last year Debbie Harry got into a cat fight with ex-guitarist Frank Infante, and years ago Michelle Phillips continued 20 years of not speaking to her ex-husband John, even as the Mamas and the Papas performed together on stage). Even so, I cannot wait for the television broadcast of the event as I cannot wait to see Ronnie Spector join her sister Estelle Bennett and their cousin Nedra Talley in belting out "Be My Baby" one more time. (NYT) Patti Smith summed the honor nicely in this NYT op-ed.
  • Gayborhood Watch: I don't think we have to worry too much about the Castro losing its "gay ghetto" label with these two on the loose. (AP)
  • First-Class Dick: The chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff said Monday he considers homosexuality to be immoral and the military should not condone it by allowing gay personnel to serve openly. Marine Gen. Peter Pace likened homosexuality to adultery, which he said was also immoral. Well, let's see here. Homosexuals are in the service and married servicemembers do commit adultery. Any other questions, dickhead? (AP)

  • Male Bond-ing: Now that Daniel Craig has proven himself Bond worthy (CAUTION), who would you like to see play his next love interest? Women needn't apply. (AfterElton)
  • Felix al-Ungar: This headline confused me: Gay Arabs Begin to Organize. Why wouldn't they -- aren't they like the rest of us gays? (AP)
  • Wedding Bell Blues: A Web site was launched Monday that features 10 couples attesting to how same-sex marriage bans have stifled their families and relationships. The American Civil Liberties Union along with the Emmy-winning production company Public Interest launched 10Couples.org , containing streaming video and a call to action. The couples claim, among other things, that not being married has caused them to continue having sex, not get fat, and not hate one another. (Advocate)

  • Not So Sly: Thank you, Sylvester Stallone, for reconfirming my belief that whenever I see someone who is abnormally muscular they are using steroids. I've spent so many years going to the gym religiously only to basically remain looking like, well, myself. Lawyers for Stallone, the 60-year-old star of the "Rocky" and "Rambo" movie franchises, represented him in a Sydney court on Tuesday where he faces a charge of importing a banned substance. (AP)
  • Beefcake Watch: Evidently the average man wants to watch sports, politics, strippers, car chases and crashes, have sex and go to sleep. ABC has figured out that women prefer to watch shows about sex: couples who talk about sex, then have sex, lots of it, and then talk about sex some more to each other and to their best friends. (NYT)

  • Fashion Distraction: Genre magazine's style blogger, Sean Krebbs, is back, this time with what he calls "an insider's guide to Sydney, Australia." If you asked me, though, I'd say his mind is way more focused on Brazil. (Genre)
  • It Never Ends: Have you been following the not-so-exciting scandal about the eight U.S. attorneys who were unceremoniously fired without cause? Try to take one guess who is behind this one. (WP)
  • No Shirt, No Shoes, No ...: An Internet cafe owner in Casablanca asked two men to leave his place of business because he objected to their looking at jihadist Web sites. How did they respond? One of the men ran ... the other one blew himself up. (NYT)

  • RIP: Betty Hutton, the actress and singer who brought a brassy vitality to Hollywood musicals such as "Annie Get Your Gun," has died in Palm Springs, Calif., at age 86. Betty holds a special place in my heart -- and on my living room wall -- because of this photo taken of her visiting U.S. troops in Korea back in early '50s. That's my dad on the right and his twin brother, Kenny, on the left. When Hollywood came calling, naturally the charming Walsh twins were the first people they introduced them to. Perhaps my dad's making her laugh somewhere again now ... (AP)

    Morning Glory: Daniel Craig

I saw my first James Bond movie yesterday. I figured with a man as hot as Daniel Craig in the lead and the stellar reviews "Casino Royale" is getting, it was the perfect introduction to the franchise that -- having waited nearly 40 years -- obviously isn't really my cup of tea.

While Craig is more than perfect as Bond, I have just one question: Who do I call to get those NINE hours of my life back? I didn't think it was possible for an action movie to be so slowly paced -- I nearly fell asleep a half-dozen times waiting for something to happen. And where was the sex? I guess casting a "Bond Girl" who looks like a cute lesbian 12-year-old boy wasn't exactly the way to set the mood, but could we at least see some 007 ass in the boudoir? Even the endless idiot plot twists were boring. By the time it was over I wasn't sure who had done what to whom -- and I really couldn't have cared less. I just kept hoping it would end. Michael is a Bond fan and told me that there are always these special cars and cool gadgets in the films, so I looked forward to seeing something like that. But the only thing I noticed was some blatant product placement for Ford and their more Bondian Aston Martin -- and the only gadget I saw on display was a defibrillator(!!!) (the medical device industry must have paid a pretty penny for this one). I guess I never got into "action" films because there's usually too much going on for there to be any character development, which is what I value most. I never expected there to be neither.

Anyway, to each his own, so I decided to focus on the positive here and compile a best-of-on-the-Web Daniel Craig photo montage, including a number of completely not-suitable-for-work photos of Mr. Craig after the jump. --->

I'm thinking his AOL screen name might be something like 007uncut ...
