'This Is Mary, Queen of Scots'

Don't forget to watch the "Mary Tyler Moore Show" 45th anniversary special tonight on PBS, which reminds us:
Exactly 40 years ago, Mary Tyler Moore visited the White House in order to shoot a scene for her iconic 1970s TV series. The episode featured a cameo by First Lady Betty Ford. These photos from that visit have never been published until now. In one, Mary meets a young Donald Rumsfeld. At the time, Moore was among the best-known and most-beloved women in America. Yet she seems clearly awe-struck during her private tour of the White House, at one point stopping to get a photo of herself in the president’s chair in his conference room. Mary Tyler Moore’s place as America’s sweetheart hasn’t changed. Follow her story on “Mary Tyler Moore: A Celebration” airing tonight at 8/7c. The one hour special includes dozens of clips, and features interviews with Mary herself, and co-stars Valerie Harper, Ed Asner, Betty White, John Amos, Cloris Leachman, Gavin MacLeod, Dick Van Dyke, and Carl Reiner. Oprah Winfrey also appears to discuss Mary’s profound influence on herself, and whole generation of women.
