Happy New Year!
I cried in the basement of our house on 13 Mile Road in Madison Heights when 1979 rang in. Something about the "9" years really get me -- knowing that the decade is nearly over and the uncertainty of what's next. But each 9 somehow gets easier as I've gotten older. So I can only say to you all that I hope you have a happy and healthy 2019! xo

Happy New Year!
Had a wonderful New Year's Eve celebrating with Damian's family out in Morris County, N.J. We had lots of food and lots of drinks -- but best of all we had each other. Here's hoping you had a fun night -- and wishing you all a great 2018!
And you thought Joan Rivers died in 2014!

Riding Into 2017 With Sandra Bernhard
Happy New Year's eve from the (212)! Hope you have a fun and safe night. If you're staying in tonight or up on Sunday with a hangover, here's my guy Damian's write-up about Sandra Bernhard's Joe's Pub show, which was a fun way to round out a year we won't soon (but will valiantly try to) forget. Read HERE.
P.S.
Sandy with her East Coast #SandyLandSquadBand: Mitch Kaplan, John Badamo and Ben Chuchinsky, who got the boys all riled up!

'The Santaland Diaires' Comes to Detroit
To my Detroit readers: Be sure to go see my friend Craig Bentley in David Sedaris' hilarious "Santaland Diaires" at the Tipping Point Theatre. Ticket info HERE.
Longtime readers may recall that a young queen was HOT FOR TEACHER.

Having a Ball
Photo of Times Square at noon today. I'm ostensibly working until 8 p.m. -- unless we get done early -- and somehow thought getting from Sixth Avenue to my party in Hell's Kitchen (Ninth Avenue) would be so convenient. What was I thinking?

Times Squares
The scene from my office, hilariously analyzed by a coworker:
So, their plan is to stand out there in freezing cold for 11 hours so that they can feel excited when an arbitrary time segment passes, and they may actually see the top of Ryan Seacrest's little gelled-up hairdo. OK. Well, best of luck in 2014 and always!
Blondie goes on at 9:25.
