Am happy to hear that Barnes & Noble has reversed its decision to close its one and only Bronx store, but sadly this two-year respite does not bode well for the future.

Barnes & Noble Closes Flagship Fifth Avenue Store
Wow, more disturbing news from the world of books. Gothamist reports that Barnes & Noble's (former) flagship location on Fifth Avenue (at 18th) has permanently closed. Ever since the store in Chelsea (proper) was shut down, this has been "my" B&N. I always dreamed of seeing my book on its shelves one day ... now I'll be lucky if I can still get into Rainbows & Triangles. How much longer before bookstores completely go the way of record stores? (The beleagured retailer also just named a new CEO.)
