Tennis Tuesday: Robert Hays

I've had a crush on Robert Hays since I was a boy -- first as Donna Pescow’s hunky hubby on "Angie" and then as Ted Striker in "Airplane!" (Surely, I can be serious!) Recently I blogged about my post-election television therapy and I can tell you those bootleg "Angie" DVDs were the best investment I've ever made, as evidenced by these screenshots of Dr. Brad Benson in his tennis whites. 35 Years Since 'Airplane!' Came Out? Surely You Must Be Joking

Today marks the 35 anniversary of the release of "Airplane!," which remains to this day the funniest film in motion-picture history. I can remember going to see it about 10 times at the Westwood Dollar Cinema in Mesa, Ariz. -- where we also saw "My Bodyguard" a dozen times -- dragging along whoever I could each time. My brothers were always up for it, but sometimes the admission fee was a bit steep for my friends. (We were only 12 or 13!) The Decider has put together a fun list of 10 interesting facts about the film, many of which I did not know -- like that Chevy Chase, Bruce Jenner and David Letterman were all up for the role made iconic by sexy Robert Hays.
