Weekend Tennis Roundup

Sinner and Sabalenka were winners in the desert. Full report plus all the ATP beef that's fit to post BELOW.

"Kiss me, Guido"

Jannik Sinner defeated Daniil Medvedev 7–6(6), 7–6(4) to win his first title at Indian Wells, becoming at 24 the youngest player to complete a career set of all six ATP Masters 1000 hard-court titles, joining only Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic.

Aryna Sabalenka defeated Elena Rybakina 3–6, 6–3, 7–6(6), rallying from a set down and saving a championship point in the final-set tiebreak to win her first Indian Wells title, her 10th WTA 1000 trophy, and avenge losses to Rybakina in the 2023 Indian Wells and 2026 Australian Open finals.

Guido Andreozzi and Manuel Guinard captured their first title as a team on Saturday at the BNP Paribas Open, defeating cousins Arthur Rinderknech and Valentin Vacherot 7-6(3), 6-3 in the doubles final.

Katerina Siniakova and Taylor Townsend won the women's doubles title by defeating Anna Danilina and Aleksandra Krunic 7–6(4), 6–4 in the final to give Townsend her first Indian Wells crown and third career WTA 1000 doubles title.

Belinda Bencic and Flavio Cobolli won the Indian Wells mixed doubles title, defeating top seeds Gabriela Dabrowski and Lloyd Glasspool 6–3, 2–6, [10–7] in the final.

Carlos Alcaraz said the intense heat at Indian Wells, combined with the long, energy-sapping rallies against Daniil Medvedev, made the first set especially difficult and contributed to the end of his 16-match winning streak.
