Hate, the Newest 'Family' Value: I try not to get myself worked up into a white rage about this kind of stuff because it happens all too often, but FUCK YOU you piece of shit, Vito Fossella. No sooner did we hear that the married-with-children Republican congressman from New York was leading a double life with a second family living down in the D.C. area, now comes word that this "family values" pol who polished his image in his predominantly Catholic district with a string of anti-gay votes even shuns HIS OWN SISTER because she is gay. Sources say has taken his hatred and hypocrisy so far that he will not even attend family events if sis Victoria is in attendance. (Victoria Fossella and her partner are parents to twins.) If the GOP stands by this one -- as they did with hooker-patronizing Sen. David Vitter while throwing their tapping-for-men colleague, Larry Craig -- then I think it's safe to say half of our "democracy" considers the gay-rights movement little more than a joke. (NYDN)

Shag and the City: The premiere of "Sex and the City: The Movie" made a huge splash Monday in ... London. (Huh? Who booked this thing, Madonna?) (NYDN)
Project Humiliation: Heidi Klum must be completely embarrassed. (Story)
Northern Exposure: For all of the talk about Canada being more progressive than America when it comes to gay rights, now comes a sad new report that says two-thirds of gay LGBT students there feel unsafe at school. (365Gay)
Post-Rehab: I know she's been through some tough times in the past year or two, but I'm happy to see Amy Winehouse is looking fit and ready to conquer her demons. (E! Online)

Blue Mood: Well, when you make a classic like "Into the Blue," I guess you're almost obligated to make a sequel. Sure, Jessica Alba is knocked up right now. But Audrina Patridge (aka the girl whose acting experience consists of saying "What did you do last night, Lauren?" on "The Hills") is more than capable of stepping into Alba's shoes swimsuit. Blame It on God: University of Toledo associate vice president of human resources Crystal Dixon, who was suspended after writing an article in the Toledo Free Press slamming gays, was fired late last week. (Best part: "As a Black woman ... I take great umbrage at the notion that those choosing the homosexual lifestyle are civil rights victims. I cannot wake up tomorrow and not be a Black woman. Daily thousands of homosexuals make a life decision to leave the gay lifestyle.") 13ABC interviewed Dixon on Friday, about an hour after she was let go, calling the decision a "lack of courageous leadership." She also says she's suing the university. (I guess it does take courage to employ a hate-monger -- but oh-so-much more to file a lawsuit.) (Towleroad)
Queen of Excuses? Cynthia Nixon stated in a new interview that if she could marry her new partner, she would. Um. Nice try. But the last time I checked it was legal for a man and a woman to marry in all 50 states. Way to dodge the commitment issue, you Miranda wannabe. (Queerty)
