RIP: Rona Newton-John

Rona was Prudence to Olivia's Mia

Sad to hear about the passing of Olivia Newton-John's older sister, Rona. who was recently diagnosed with brain cancer. Rona was a frequent guest star on television shows in the '60s and early '70s, then began a relationship with her sister's "Grease" costar Jeff Conaway after meeting at a party at producer Allan Carr's house in 1978. (She and Jeff were married from 1980-85.) She later remarried and started a family. RIP..

Olivia told People::
"Rona died of a very aggressive brain tumor and mercifully suffered no pain. She was surrounded by the love of her four children – Fiona, Brett, Tottie and Emerson, and her wonderful friends. I will miss her forever – my beautiful, smart, talented, funny, brave sister Rona."

Hi Kenneth, some of the news reports are getting the biographical details incorrectly. Rona had three kids in the late 1950s/early 1960s from her first marriage, then a four child in 1974 with her second husband. Jeff Conaways was her third and final husband and they had no children together.

Amazon lists Rona's memories, "The Dark Side of Charisma", as being available in late June. You can also read her blogs at "Out there with Rona".
