I've seen him in a couple of films, Blackbeard, the Pirate with Linda Darnell and Clash by Night with Barbara Stanwyck and Marilyn Monroe which that last pic is from. He wasn't much of an actor, in Clash by Night he was particularly out of his depth and everybody else wiped him right off the screen, but once his shirt came off he was quite breathtaking.
He had a long career, including on stage, he was Lucy's leading man when she starred on Broadway, his 2 sons had decades long careers as rock musicians.
