Striking Gold: My favorite part of "No Country for Old Men" cleaning up at the Oscars is when producer Scott Rudin thanked his partner, PR man John Barlow, whom he referred to as "honey." (NYT)
A Win for Equality: "Freehold," the documentary that chronicles an Ocean County prosecutor’s investigator who died of lung cancer in February 2006 at 49 while fighting for to have survivors' benefits for her partner, took home the Oscar for best documentary short subject. (NYT)
Long Island Duo: Are Rosie O'Donnell and Fran Drescher teaming up for a sitcom? (QueerTwoCents)
Gifts: The estate of Ric Weiland, a gay high school classmate of Microsoft Corp. founders Bill Gates and Paul Allen and one of the first five people to work at the software giant, has left $65 million to gay rights and HIV/AIDS organizations. Although Weiland sadly committed suicide after years of battling depression, it's great that his fortune is going to a good cause. (BoyCulture)
Tokyo Pop: A high school "girl" at a school in Tokyo was arrested when she turned out to be a 39-year-old man. That's some disguise. (Reuters)
Baby Bump: Angelina Jolie apparently is pregnant. But who knew Val Kilmer was the father? (AP)
Eyes Wide Shut: This is a fascinating first-person account by a woman who married a gay guy. Who knew it took her man telling her on their first date that he's not gay, "no matter what you've heard," his refusing to have premarital sexy, his not being able to get an erection on their wedding night, his baking all the kids' birthday cakes, and his telling her all about his past gay sexual experiences and a bad case of chlamydia, for her to finally get the hint. I love that Christine Taylor looks more like Marcia Brady in my mind than Maureen McCormick ever did -- kind of like when Cher guest-starred...

Oscar telecast was one of the most boring I've seen. The shows final results, much like the winning movie, also sucked.
it was cute when he called his partner honey :)
