Master Criminals: Three men wearing ski masks walked into a private museum here in daylight, grabbed four 19th-century masterpieces, tossed them into a van and sped off, pulling off one of the largest and most audacious art robberies of all time. Unsolved Mystery: The state attorney’s office in Palm Beach County, Fla., said Monday that no charges would be filed in the drowning of Seth Tobias, 44, a hedge fund manager and regular commentator on CNBC. The decision followed accusations, made by Tobias’ brothers and an associate in a court case over his $25 million estate, that he had been killed by his wife, Filomena. The case has captivated the investment world in New York, where Tobias ran a $300 million hedge fund, and the Palm Beach area, where he owned two homes. RIP: Rep. Tom Lantos (D-Calif.), the only survivor of the Holocaust to serve in Congress and the founder of the Congressional Human Rights Caucus, died Monday in Maryland of cancer of the esophagus. He was 80 years old. (Advocate)
