Curious Crapper: The bathroom where disgraced Senator Larry Craig tried to get his groove on has become an extremely popular tourist attraction. I guess it beats the Mall of America. (NYT)
Politics & Poland: Gay activist Szymon Niemiec will stand in Polish parliamentary elections supported by labor unions. Learn more about his campaign on his blog. (Site)
Bunch of Crabs: A Maryland court has ruled that it's still OK to discriminate against gays who want to marry. Do I smell a John Waters film? (Queerty)
Death Camp Album: A previously unseen collection of photos taken inside the Auschwitz concentration camp is a disturbing look at monsters at rest and at play. (NYT)
'Cover' Girl: Queen Latifah undergoes an interrogation about her bigoted "gay marriage" comments that recently appeared in Glamour. (DallasVoice)
You Better Work: '90s Supermodel RuPaul is back in "Starrbooty," a new film that's said to be jam-packed with delicious dialogue, insane characters, outrageous costumes and gratuitous hair and make-up. Directed by Mike Ruiz, the cast includes Candis Cayne, Lahoma Van Zandt, Gus Mattox, and Lady Bunny. "The goal here was to make an exploitation film that was part Russ Meyer, John Waters and 'The Naked Gun,'" RuPaul explained, "and we succeeded." (Official site)
Where's Jenny Jones? One of the men charged with the hate-crime murder of Michael Sandy is using his own (previously closeted) homosexuality as part of his defense claiming his being gay too means it wasn't a hate crime. The judge isn't buying it and neither am I. If anything, this makes me think it was more of one. We all know self-loathing in the gay community can have grave consequences. (NYP)
Cutting Corners: The life and death of Sgt. Denise A. Lannaman, a onetime firefighter, sailor, filmmaker, scuba diver, paramedic and auto mechanic who was also a lesbian, is a fascinating and ultimately tragic tale. But how this gifted but mentally unstable woman wound up serving in our nation's armed forces has to make you wonder to what length the United States is willing to go in order to keep recruitment up. (NYT)
Justice Delayed, or Denied? A man shoots and wounds a cop in 1966, serves 20 years in prison for the crime and then goes home only to have his victim die of supposedly related causes 41 years after the fact. Prosecutors are now charging the man with murder. His lawyers are crying double jeopardy. (NYT)
Rest in Blank: The late Brett Somers will be honored by GSN in an all-day marathon this Saturday, Sept. 22. The Somers "Match Game" tribute will air from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. ET and will feature some of the best moments from her many years of work on one of of my favorite game shows of all time. Following the marathon, GSN's original documentary "The Real Match Game Story: Behind the Blank" will air from 4 to 5 p.m. ET. Additionally, on Sunday night (Monday morning) Sept. 23 at 3:30 a.m. ET, GSN will air a 1971 episode of "Password" where she appeared with then-husband Jack Klugman, as the other celebrity guest. A fitting tribute to a funny lady who will be missed. (AP) (Was the gay porn star Brett Winters named as a tribute to her? I always thought so but can find no proof.)

As someone who lives in the Twin Cities and has been to that airport bathroom AND the Mall of America, I'd say it's a tie. Both are hyped beyond all reason. At least the men's room is useful, whereas the mall is just a soul-destroying retail behemoth that's so big it's almost impossible to shop there.
