Miss Hepburn 'Regrets'

The late former New York mayor Ed Koch was rejected over the years by some of the world's most famous and glamorous women. But none did it as well as the legendary Katharine Hepburn, whose refuse-nik ways will leave you reeling!

Mayor Ed Koch Is Laid to Rest

There was a lot of pomp and circumstance at former Mayor Ed Koch's star-studded funeral yesterday, but  Michael Signorile isn't letting death get in the way of holding Big Bird and Grandpa Munster's love child responsible for myriad misdeeds against the LGBT community. (And who could blame him? Read HERE.)

Michael and I observed Mr. Koch's passing by doing something he would have loved -- giving him our undivided attention, by going to see Neil Barsky's documentary about him. Like the mayor himself, I found the film to be highly entertaining -- and felt it did an admirable job of showing why someone as polarizing as Koch could still be so beloved all these years later. The film is well-balanced, and does not shy away from his critics, including those in the black and LGBT communities. I don't think there will ever be another politician like him. But for better or worse, Koch will always be an integral part of New York City history, and Barsky does a fine job of reminding us why.

Former Mayor Ed Koch Is Dead at 88

RIP. Here's hoping Mayor Ed Koch -- a gay man in a powerful position who didn't use his power to help his own brothers -- is the last of a dying breed. Read about his three tumultuous terms as mayor of New York City and more HERE.
