Heard this one while re-watching my friend Scott Prendergast's 2007 film, "Kabluey," about a ne'er-do-well who comes to help his sister-in-law (Lisa Kudrow) care for her two kids while her husband is stationed in Iraq. I appreciated it a lot more this time. I'd been a bit lukewarm in 2007 because certain plot points didn't quite ring true, so I got uptight. But this time around I realized it was meant to be slapstick, so I just sort of went with it and enjoyed it a lot. It also had more heart than I remembered, which is right in my wheelhouse. The soundtrack actually has a number of good tracks, but this one seemed the most appropriate given the heatwave we're experiencing here in the city.
