Weekend Tennis Roundup

Titles for Alcaraz, Shapovalov, Bencic and Potapova. Full report plus Boss underwear pics of Taylor Fritz, Matteo Berrettini and all the ATP beef that’s fit to post BELOW

Carlos Alcaraz has accomplished just about everything there is in tennis at 21 years old. On Sunday in Rotterdam, he did something he had never done before by winning an ATP Tour title indoors. Alcaraz recovered from a flat second set to beat Alex De Minaur 6-4, 3-6, 6-2 -- and now has as many indoor titles as legendary countryman Rafael Nadal(!).

Denis Shapovalov -- in a resurgence I'm not sure anyone saw coming and very few wanted -- captured the Dallas Open with a 7-6 (5), 6-3 win over No. 5-ranked Casper Ruud in the final. The Canadian beat three Top 10 players en route to winning his third career title.

Simone Bolelli and Andrea Vavassori overcame Sander Gille and Jan Zielinski 6-2, 4-6, 10-6 to capture the doubles crown in Rotterdam

Qualifiers Evan King and Christian Harrison won the doubles crown in Dallas, defeating Ariel Behar and Robert Galloway in the final, 7–6(4), 7–6(4). This was the first ATP Tour title for both Harrison and King.

Belinda Bencic came from behind to beat Ashlyn Krueger 4-6, 6-1, 6-1 and capture the Abu Dhabi Open title on Saturday, four months after returning to the circuit from maternity leave. The Swiss former world No. 4, who is now outside the top 150, gave birth to her daughter, Bella, in April. She becomes the first mother to claim a WTA singles title since Elina Svitolina won in Strasbourg in May 2023.

And Anastasia Potapova came from behind to post a 4-6, 6-1, 6-2 victory over unseeded Lucia Bronzetti and win the WTA 250 Transylvania Open title in Cluj-Napoca on Sunday.

Camp Nole: Sounds like Novak Djokovic's muscle tear is healed and he will return to play in Doha -- continuing to work with Andy Murray at least through Wimbledon:

"Thank God I managed to recover quickly. I've had a few more injuries recently compared to the first 15 years of my career. It probably comes with age, but my body is still serving me well and I still have the flame and desire."
