Titles for Auger Aliassime, Monfils, Keys and Kessler. Full report, plus all the ATP beef that's fit to post -- including Tommy Paul's flesh act -- BELOW.
Felix Auger-Aliassime’s confident start to the 2025 season picked up pace Saturday, when he claimed the Adelaide International title. The fifth seed held his nerve for a 6-3, 3-6, 6-1 triumph against Sebastian Korda to clinch his sixth ATP Tour title, and first outdoors. Auger-Aliassime is now on a five-match win streak which began last week with his victory over World No. 4 Taylor Fritz at the United Cup.
French veteran Gael Monfils has become the oldest player to win an ATP Tour title after beating Zizou Bergs 6-3, 6-4 in Auckland. Monfils claimed his 13th tour title 20 years after his first and at the age of 38 years, 132 days. He took over from Roger Federer, who was 38 years, 74 days old when he won the final tour title of his career, the Swiss Indoor title at Basel in 2019.
McCartney Kessler claimed her second WTA title by defeating Elise Mertens 6-4, 3-6, 6-0 in the Hobart International final on Saturday.
Madison Keys won her ninth career WTA title on Saturday, taking out fellow American Jessica Pegula 6-3, 4-6, 6-1 at the Adelaide International.
Simone Bolelli and Andrea Vavassori served up some early-season revenge in dramatic fashion on Saturday at the Adelaide International. The Italian duo saved four match points late in the second set before securing a 4-6, 7-6(4), 11-9 championship-match triumph against Kevin Krawietz and Tim Puetz at the hard-court ATP 250. Bolleli and Vavassori held firm to triumph in their first meeting with Krawietz and Puetz since the German pair knocked them out of the 2024 Nitto ATP Finals with a decisive group-stage win.
Michael Venus and Nikola Mektic took home the crown in Auckland when the American duo of Christian Harrison and Rajeev Ram pulled out due to the latter's being injured.
