That sign is so true. Never live in an unreinforced masonry home in the Bay Area! I've seen some which have just crumbled in an earthquake.
I hope your trip has left you refreshed and ready to deal with the rigors of New York again!
Portland, OR, is going to require similar warning signs, but property owners are suing claiming such signs somehow violate their free speech rights. I think the warning signs are appropriate.
Sounds like a wonderful time - good for you. If you want to see another warning sign those of us on the east coast find alarming, head to the Puget Sound area. I swear this is true: "Tsunami Warning Zone - in case of earthquake head to higher land." Gave me the shivers.
