Thrilled for California and for the federal recognition of the handful of other states where same-sex marriage is legal. But this one's for all the people living where marriage is still not legal for same-sex couples. I want to be thrilled -- and we're definitely on our way -- but we're still in "separate is not equal" territory -- ALL OF US -- and frankly I'm exhausted. I don't want to go through another dozen -- or three dozen -- lawsuits to just be treated like a human being. The only solace is that Antonin Scalia has already laid the groundwork in his dissent -- again -- for us to finally get this stupidity taken care of once and for all.
