The New York Times reports that the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts will begin selling its entire collection of Warhols this fall, donating some and selling others as it shifts almost exclusively into a grant-making organization. The items will be auctioned via Christie's -- through both live and online auction -- some of which include art that the public has never seen. While there are no "major" works for sale -- no Marilyns, no soup cans -- a foundation rep said there are "thousands" of items to be sold, and some will be priced at under $10,000, opening the bidding up to a huge audience.
