Mwuaaaaah!

This ought to turn the GOP's chances around. Oh, wait. Guess I shouldn't joke. Fifty percent of the country is stupid enough to believe this is the president's fault ... just watch:

When are people going to realize that the President has NOTHING to do with the price of gas. Oil prices are set by OPEC, of which we are NOT a member. The price is inflated by speculators (now we could tax speculative trading which might have an effect on prices but good luck trying to get the Republicans in congress to vote for a tax increase!) and the turmoil in the middle east currently surrounding Iran and the straights of Hormuz. But, yeah go ahead and vote for a Republican because that is going to bring down gas prices. Stupid.

The President has something to do with domestic drilling policy. And this President is completely hostile to American oil production. He welcomes higher gas prices because it fits into his desire to swap oil subsidies for "green" energy subsidies. Neither of which the country can afford to pay right now.

So will anybody blame the oil companies when they release their billion dollar profit figures?

Domestic drilling has increased under this admin. In fact all forms of domestic production have increased. Check your Congressional voting record and enjoy your flammable water.

The country was also losing 750K jobs a month when President Obama took office. Just saying...

  6. I'm not sure if this price is accurate. BUT even if it is, does anyone remember how high gas was a month before the 2008 election? Wicked high.....and then it started to drop and drop and drop.

I called it, at the time, a conspiracy to elect a GOP candidate since the GOP was in office at the high and low of those costs.

    The sign is 100% busllshit.

I must say, I DON'T remember gas being $1.78 a gallon in 2008, or any time after say, spring 2002 for that matter. But if we're going to blame the president for EVERYTHING that happens in the United States, we should give him some credit too. There were free sub sandwiches in the break room at work today. Thank you, Mr. Obama!
