In case you couldn't tell, I really was surprised on this birthday. Rafael and Kandy sure enjoyed watching me blush. The funniest part of the night was that the party was held at our friend Fabian's apartment, in the Lansburgh in downtown Washington. Fabian was (is?) an illegal alien but his down-the-hall neighbor just happened to be the attorney general at the time, Janet Reno. He's greet her in the hallway just like you would any neighbor, yet to me the whole thing had wacky sitcom written all over it ...
