Deceitful Above All Things

Having lived in gay ghettos for the majority of my adult life, teenage truckstop hookers are a dime a dozen to me. So when I read today that the famed teenage truckstop hooker turned author JT Leroy had been exposed as a white, middle-aged mother, JT Leroy suddenly got a lot more interesting to me.

After years of rumors, New York magazine pretty much figured it all out a few months ago. But there was still something really great about reading the ins and outs of it all directly from the mouth of Geoffrey Knoop, the estranged(!) common-law husband of Laura Abert (aka JT Leroy). And as the NY Times reported recently, it was indeed Knoop's half sister who played JT in public appearances. Take a look at the photo above: did anyone really believe that the blond in the wig was a boy?!!
