Hello, everyone! Damian and I just returned from our incredibly fun and romantic honeymoon so I wanted to check in tout de suite. A friend who's been following along on Facebook described our getaway as "epic," to which I explained that my husband runs vacations -- honeymoons included!-- like a tour manager, so he's not messing around. (My guess is he's pushing hard now knowing that my being 10 years his senior means time's a wastin’!) Photos from it all -- Amsterdam, The Hague, Paris, Mont-Saint-Michel, Monteneuf, Carnac (two stone sites) and Pont-Aven followed by a tour of Southeast Ireland (we ferried from Roscoff to County Cork) before retuning to Amsterdam -- BELOW. 💘
P.S. A big hug to everyone who has reached out to congratulate us. Having grown up when gay people were second-class citizens in the eyes of law, marriage wasn't something I ever thought about much less dreamed of. But now that it's my reality, I can't tell you how good it feels. Obergefell v. Hodges was spot-on.
Wow! Great pics! Welcome back
ReplyDeleteWelcome home!!
ReplyDeleteWill we be uncles in the coming months?
Glad you guys had a great time. Time does fly by. Then we get into the scenario that we should have traveled here and there. I believe that everyone should travel outside of the US at least once. They will quickly realize there is a world bigger than them. It will put things in perspective. I am from a military family and I was in the US Air Force. So I have been to a few places outside the US. My first assignment was in Wiesbaden, Germany. I did travel a bit to Amsterdam and Paris before the mark rate fell close to 50%. On an airman's salary, it became too expensive to travel outside of Germany.
I follow a blog-Joe My God-and in the overnight thread there is a guy who lives in the Southeastern part of Ireland. He always posts pictures of his neck of the woods. What a beautiful place. He lives near the Celtic Sea and mountains. The views are stunning. I want to find a nice cottage and just live out the rest of my years.
Once again welcome home. Your readers have been white-knuckling until your return.
Best---
Victor
It looks like it was a most fabulous honeymoon and well-deserved. Glad it all went well. :)
ReplyDeleteIt's great that you two had such a fine honeymoon.
ReplyDeleteOne of the things I've told myself often over the years has been "I'm getting older, I may not be able to do this later, I'd better do it now" and then I'd go someplace or try some new experience. Then, if it was good - I've done it again. And again. Some of that travel, some of those things, I really can't do anymore, but I'm glad that I did them when I could. Again and again!
Have a great time
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your marriage. May you have a joyous life together.
