Meme Spirited

 

This made me smile -- surprise! -- but took on additional meaning when I saw a friend's Facebook post that read: 

On Reddit, a user asked: What stopped you from ending your own life? One of the most frequent responses: my cat.

The people who mentioned cats consistently described their cats sensing something was wrong. In one example, the suicidal person was in their bedroom behind a closed door, about to jump out a window. On the other side of the door, their cat started scratching the door and meowing very loudly -- both unusual behaviors.

Excuse me while I go hug someone with bonus whiskers lying near my feet. 😸
