Song of the Day: 'Chequered Love' by Kim Wilde

I'm not sure I would be tweeting about its "41st anniversary." (Is that even a thing?!) But any excuse to remember this gem from Kim Wilde's self-titled 1981 album, which served as the second single after "Kids in America." How she wasn't a bigger star is anyone's guess, although it certainly didn't help that her record label refused to release her second and third albums in the U.S. "Select," Kim's sophomore LP, featured "Cambodia," the greatest "story song" of the 1980s, a haunting French-Indochina "Ode to Billie Joe."

Dear EMI America: If "Cambodia" didn't have hit potential in the U.S., why does it remain her most popular song on all streaming platforms save for her No. 1 Supremes cover? The 1980s were filled with bizarre hit singles, how could you blow this one?

It's almost like this stud at the Charlotte airport knew I was sniffing around. Out of nowhere, he stopped and did THIS

The Last Temptations of Harvey

Perfect! You should see the treat graveyard at my house.

"My mask's up here." One more boy who plays it safe BELOW.

Thursday Ad Watch

Other than the yucky girl and the fact that the products are related to having sex with women, I'm a big fan of this Promescent ad campaign. Watch BELOW.

Song of the Day: 'All Night Long' by Peter Murphy

To our delight, this came on MTV Classic last night as I was folding laundry, which led to Damian digging up the fact that Bauhaus had a "quixotic Blondiesque reunion in 1998" that neither of knew anything about!

Wrestle Wednesday

A concerned friend sent me the following photo labeled: "Bad cropping." See the follow-up, "better cropping," BELOW.

Song of the Day: 'Dance This Mess Around' by the B-52s

The B-52s announced their farewell tour yesterday, and something tells me this isn't going to be the kind of racket Cher's been running forever. I am fortunate to have seen them once when Ricky Wilson was alive and another time when Keith Strickland was still in the band, so have been loath to see them with neither. Still, with two dates down the street from my new home, you just may see me dancing this mess around one last time to celebrate their wonderful careers!

Show 'Em How It's Done

I need to write my version of this, where somehow I remember every single item ordered by every person in line at fast-food restaurants -- type of sandwich, size and variety of drink, size of French fries -- yet the cashier being paid to do so has to have everything repeated six times (and still gets it wrong).

Hunks of 'House Hunters'

If I had a laboratory where I could create the man of my dreams -- complete with facial hair controls and get-ups -- he would probably look exactly like the brawny star of the "Lizard in Austin' episode of "House Hunters."
With their wedding fast approaching, an engaged couple looks to buy their first home in Austin, Texas. She's hoping to get a home that's turnkey, but he's mostly concerned with a place that's big enough to house his enormous collection of lizards.
Lots more photographic evidence BELOW.

Tennis Tuesday

Ask me if I have a hardon for leggy Spaniard Bernabe Zapata Miralles. Although the 25-year-old from Valencia is only ranked No. 123 in the world, I must not be alone. How else do you explain the numerous gifs people have made of him, including three more BELOW?

Song of the Day: 'Embraceable You' by Liza Minnelli and Michael Feinstein

With so much mystery surrounding Liza Minnelli in recent weeks, it got me wondering when she had last performed. I knew she had worked on friend Michael Feinstein's recent "Gershwin Country" album. That collaboration of "Embraceable You" can be heard HERE, But her appearance just last year at Feinstein's at Vitello's in Studio City, Calif., is far more fun, as evidenced below
