In the reporting on last night's debate, I truly dislike this distinction between liberal and moderate. Even NPR couldn't stay away from this description. Given the opportunity to have full health care, I believe the public would grab at the chance. Framed as a liberal plot to take away their private health-care, they will run in the other direction. (And I agree that any Democrat who argues this is using Republican talking points. Instead, talk about the policies--what works and what doesn't--instead of using Republican scare tactics to garner debate points.)
ReplyDeleteSo I think it's essential that at least we, if not the horse-race obsessed media--stop referring to this divide as liberal vs. moderate. It's just different approaches and we need to be talked about them as such.
