Even before the Oakland County Child Killer murders, my first real exposure to death was when "Family Affair" cutie Anissa Jones died in 1976. I pictured her looking like Buffy still, with Mrs. Beasley tucked under her arm, so it made no sense that she could have been overdosing on drugs, a word I barely understood the meaning of.
But it was only when this cookbook popped up on my Facebook news feed last week did I dig deeper and find what she looked like closer to her death at age 18.
