Song of the Day: 'Nobody Sees Me Like You Do' by Rosanne Cash

Was cleaning up my iTunes library last night when I first realized that this beautiful song by Rosanne Cash -- whom I consider to be one of the best singer/songwriters of our generation -- is actually penned by Yoko Ono. (It's from a 1984 Yoko tribute album.) I'll admit to only knowing Mrs. Lennon as a musical punchline -- and her rather unpleasant "Don't Worry" song the B-52s covered without her permission, only to have it removed from future pressings of "Whammy" -- but if she can actually write songs like this one, the woman may be the most underrated artist I've come across in a while.

  1. Yoko is a musically misunderstood genius!

  2. Ono's 10 #1's on Billboard's Dance charts would not qualify as underrated. The Nilsson covers on "Every Man Loves A Woman" are great. And the song "I'm Going Away Smiling" on the Yoko Ono Plastic Ono Band cd "Between My Head and the Sky" is very touching.
