Novak Djokovic Defeats Rafael Nadal in Longest Grand Slam Final in Open Era!

Hard to imagine a better match than Novak Djokovic's epic 5-7, 6-4, 6-2, 6-7, 7-5 win over Rafael Nadal for the 2012 Australian Open crown. That's four of the last five majors for Nole and seven straight wins over the Spaniard -- all in finals. Djokovic has quickly become what Nadal was to Roger Federer, only this time I like it! Incredible stuff!!!

  1. Epic. I was planning to not watch it live since I had a feeling that Nole was going to lose. I'm glad I changed my mind, even if I was yelling at the TV when Nole couldn't close it out in the 4th as well as getting broken in the 5th. I can't. Even. I don't know how I got through it...I don't know how these two got through it.

Great match. But enuf with Nole's testosterone-fueled celebrations!

  3. If and only if Nadal stops the scissorkicks & fistpumps. I'm sure some people have had enough of those as well.

Wow----my head was spinning. This was the ultimate Grand Slam final--the 2 best, playing their best.

It more than made up for the women's final being such a dud!
