Yes, This is 'Defending' Marriage
Yet another legally married same-sex couple -- married 7, together 19 -- is being torn apart thanks to the so-called Defense of Marriage Act -- and with one of the partners acting as the primary caregiver to his AIDS-afflicted spouse, the disgustingness of it all is even more palpable than usual. Obama's hands are not tied here by DOMA. He has the discretion to NOT deport this law-abiding, suffering couple, which ICE exercised with other high-profile gay deportation cases (like Henri Velandia etc.)
ReplyDeleteBut I wonder if Obama is doing this to make him look better to the right wing or give him cover if he's accused of not enforcing DOMA. Either way, it's disgusting.
