On the Rag, Vol 111

A weekly look at what's making news in the free gay magazines:

Next features Gerald McCullouch, Joe Conti and Stephen Guarino from the film "BearCity," although I'm completely perplexed by what any of these three have to do with the bear community. Are even low-budget gay movies so influenced by Hollywood's standards of beauty that none of them even have a noticeable amount of body hair, let alone a little extra fat stored for the winter?

Frontiers gets ready for Halloween -- an extraordinary time in West Hollywood, as I recall -- with a look at L.A.'s most popular ghoulish event, the Dia de los Muertos celebration at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery.

Cruising Santa Monica Boulevard with my roommate Ken McDonald, circa 1990. (If anyone know Ken or his then-lover, Kip the aerobics instructor, please send him my way!)

  1. I wonder what "Dad" is going to say about the star of his play going au naturel for this cover shoot? And yes, where IS the body hair?!

  2. Okay. that is one ridiculously photoshopped thigh. Why in the world did they make it twice its size?
