It's been a couple years since my beloved corner shop -- 18th Street Magazines, where I spent hundreds of dollars on imported titles over the last decade or so -- went under. While I'm relieved it didn't become a bank or nail salon -- like nearly every other abandoned store in the neighborhood -- I'm not sure having the temptation of Ray's pizza this close to home is any better.

'Original' Sin
It's been a couple years since my beloved corner shop -- 18th Street Magazines, where I spent hundreds of dollars on imported titles over the last decade or so -- went under. While I'm relieved it didn't become a bank or nail salon -- like nearly every other abandoned store in the neighborhood -- I'm not sure having the temptation of Ray's pizza this close to home is any better.
