Page 1 Consider (07/01)

  • This Used to Be Her Playground (Really): A weekend fire that destroyed a childhood home of Madonna has been deemed suspicious by arson investigators. The Oakland County Sheriff’s Arson Unit and the Rochester Hills Fire Department are investigating the Friday night blaze. You may recall this house was up for sale on eBay in 2001 but did not fetch the outrageously high bid the owner hoped it would (Mmm.) (Freep)

  • Shameless: Two married U.S. senators -- one who fucks hookers, the other who has a 40-year track record of sexual exploits with men -- have named themselves as co-sponsors of the so-called Marriage Protection Amendment. If ratified, the bill would amend the U.S. Constitution to state that marriage "shall consist only of the union of a man and a woman." Now before you go thinking David Vitter and Larry Craig are being hypocritical you have to think of this: nothing seems to have "protected" either of their marriages more than adulterous affairs -- and by marriages I mean unions with women. Voila. (PageOneQ)

  • Search and Replace: Did you hear about the Olympic track star Tyson Homosexual? (PageOneQ)

  • Lover Boys: That couple who obtained a marriage license and exchanged vows in Virginia before officials realized both were biological men will not face charges. They will, however, keep a number of fab-u-lous gifts! (AP)

  • Hole Punch: Somewhere Courtney Love is cursing Amy Winehouse for stealing her act. (NYT)

  • Rafa-Mania: TennisWeek looks into the question on everyone -- including Roger Federer's mind. (TennisWeek)

  • New Face, Mate? Lleyton Hewitt, in England competing at Wimbledon, announced yesterday that he and his wife are expecting their second child in January. But he looks like he paid a plastic surgeon a visit after the first one. (People)

  • All Grown Up: You have to admit that Jerry O'Connell has come a long way since his child star days. Woof! (People)

  • McConvictions: Irish Prime Minister Brian Cowen says he will not be cowed by members of his own Fianna Fail Party who oppose civil partnerships. (365Gay)

  • Partial Victory: Well, he may not be for gay marriage (well, at least not politically speaking), but Barack Obama is against Prop 8, California anti-marriage amendment. (Calitics)

  • Mum's the Word: You mean to tell me Andy Murray's mother isn't trangender -- or at the very least a lesbian? (Reuters)
