Vaudeville may be dead, but camp is alive and well, and it lives in "Xanadu." I don't remember the last time I went to a Broadway show were people laughed out of their seats. A good time was most definitely had by all, including the cast that just bounced off each others sly innuendos and at times just outright jabs. No one was spared. From Andrew Lloyd Weber to even Patti LuPone, performing next door in Gypsy, the jokes just kept on coming. Of course the main "punching bag" of the evening was our own Olivia Newton John, but it was all tongue in cheek thanks to Kerry Butler in the lead role who just was loving every minute of it. I guess you can say "That's why the lady is a Camp."
Indeed. And an even-gayer-than-usual (if that's possible) crowd certainly didn't hurt. Get complete details on the Boys' Night fun here.

I saw the Wednesday matinee of Xanadu this week, and I think it is one of the best shows I have ever seen on Broadway. I wish I would have known about Boy's Night, I would have rather seen Xanadu twice than sit through the boring and torturous, Young Frankenstein in the evening.
