Thank You

Everybody --
San Diego is beautiful and I'm having a great time meeting fellow journalists from all over the place.

I don't travel with a computer (I like to think of trips as a break from so much online life and a chance for some real-world life!) but I'm sitting here in the hotel lobby's Internet cafe having a coffee and saw the computer terminal just staring at me and couldn't resist a quick peak at my e-mail.

I just wanted to post this quick note to tell you that I read all of the messages you guys sent about Troy and although I'm sitting here in a public place crying like a little girl, every single one of them made me feel a little bit better and better and better.

I'm going to get back to what I'm here for, but thanks for caring and helping me through this sad period. :-)

    Enjoy your trip! Take care!

  2. Hugs from two hours away in L.A. :-) (and from Jonathan Riggs, too!)

The gift of tears. I'd so rather be someone who is broken up by the death of a beloved pet than someone who is not. I'm glad you are too.

I know what you mean about checking email. Hard to believe just 12 years ago, I had never sent an email EVER!

    Have a good flight home!

I am going thru the agony of wondering what lies around the corner for my cat, Barry. He's just been diagnosed with lymphoma. I have opted for the steroid treatment path which I think is what you did.

It is tearing me apart seeing my boy not eat or drink and lie around feeling bad. He doesn't seem to be in pain tho and he purrs like mad when I pet him so it seems premature for that bad day.

Is there any way you can let me know how long it was before Troy responded to the steroid? I recall on your blog that troy just started eating out of the blue after the steroid shot kicked in. Do you remember how long it was between shot and back in action?

I am hoping for a little quality time with my little guy. I just don't know what to expect.
