The Birthday Boy

Here's wishing my dear friend Jay (in the middle) a very Happy Birthday! Although we don't get to see each nearly as much as we did in our heyday (he works days, I work nights/weekends -- and we both have longtime boyfriends) Jay's the kind of friend that it doesn't feel any different if it's been a week or a year since you last saw him -- we just pick up right where we left off. This photo is from one of my birthdays a couple years ago. That's our friend Larry on the left. I messaged Jay right around midnight to wish him well and our thoughts quickly turned to Lar and how this Friday would have been his 34th birthday.
