Sequel to Jonathan Caouette's 'Tarnation' Now Streaming

This is weird. Less than 24 hours after mentioning it in passing, in a blog post about something else, comes word that "Walk Away Renee," Jonathan Caouette's sequel-of-sorts to his critcally acclaimed documentary "Tarnation," is now available to watch online, exclusively through SundanceNOW's Doc Club.

Description: In "Walk Away Renee," director Jonathan Caouette embarks on a road trip to move his mentally ill mother, Renee, across the country. As they encounter roadblocks in the present, we begin to flash back to moments from the past, giving us insight into this anything-but-ordinary mother/son relationship. Through musical montage, psychedelic sequences and real and imagined circumstance, the film raises questions about love, sacrifice, and the reality in which we live.

Song of the Day: 'Oblivious' by Aztec Camera

A classic single by Aztec Camera from one of the all-time best debut's,"High Land, Hard Rain."

"They've bought the bullets and there's no one left to shoot." The sound of young Scotland. Aztec Camera looking great in 1983 on the BBC lunchtime programme "Pebble Mill at One."

The strange tarot card, day-glo, voodoo version. What's it all mean Roddy? Introduced by Ivor Cutler (taken from a Rough Trade VHS compilation).

Nailed It (Sort Of)

Via Jim from the Berkshires, who writes: My husband and I were in Thailand earlier this year and saw this advertisement in a mall. See the last ....treatment. Every time I see your Nailed It feature I think of this pic so I had to share it.

To Catch a Predicate

Sure, this guy isn't going to win Copy Editor of the Year. But is it really kosher for a cop to respond to this horny wordsmith's Craigslist ad pretending to be a 14-year-old girl so you can turn around and arrest him? Something about it rubs me the wrong way -- although I may apply for his old job. It's at my parents' local paper! Read HERE.
