And last and certainly least: I really hate how tennis has become a virtue-signaling playground for people who don't actually know or care about the sport, but here we are.
So to everyone who felt the need to weigh in I can only say this: I've always been a fan of Taylor Townsend's, but I'm not sure getting called out for being the ONLY PLAYER on tour who ignores basic tennis etiquette -- she also doesn't offer a courtesy "sorry" when she NAILS someone with a volley or overhead -- by a nutty Eastern European using racist language makes her a "class act," but OK. Note to the world: Two things can be true at the same time.
As disappointing as it was for Townsend, it was quite a performance from Barbora, one of the nicest players around.
