How fun! Which do you see?
“Gene Hackman: A Week with the Gene Genie,” a retrospective dedicated to the late actor will be presented by Film at Lincoln Center in NYC from July 25 to 31.
The series will feature:
"Bonnie and Clyde"
"The French Connection"
"Cisco Pike"
"The Poseidon Adventure"
"Scarecrow"
"Night Moves"
"The Conversation"
"Young Frankenstein"
"Eureka"
"Hoosiers"
"Another Woman"
"Mississippi Burning"
"Unforgiven"
"The Firm"
"Crimson Tide"
"Twilight"
"Heist"
"The Royal Tenenbaums"
We watched "The Conversation" (his finest) and "Another Woman" (sublime) fairly recently. But I still might pick the latter in honor of Gena Rowlands as well -- or maybe "Young Frankenstein" for Gene and Teri Garr. I grew up in a Woody Allen house so have never actually seen it (my teen brother thought Mel Brooks's humor was too lowbrow!)
