Every couple years I remember just how great Michael Hutchence (Jan. 22, 1960 – Nov. 22, 1997) and the boys were. My love affair began with MTV staples like "The One Thing" and "Don't Change" -- then I lucked out when I saw them from the front row opening for the Go-Go's twice in 1984. Then their career really took off, with a string of classic singles like "To Look at You," "Original Sin," "What You Need," "This Time," "Need You Tonight," "Devil Inside," "New Sensation," "Never Tear Us Apart," "Suicide Blonde" and so on. Do you have a favorite INXS song?
Mine is a deep dive: Burn for You from The Swing
ReplyDeleteHe was my boyfriend in the 80s:)
ReplyDeleteOriginal Sin. Despite owning Kick I didn't hear it until 20 years later!
ReplyDeleteI was dragged up to Magic Mountain to see them in one of those tiny open air venues. They just arrived in the states. I didn't really know them then. Great choice for song of the day. I also love: To Look at You, Burn for You, Same Direction and Heaven Sent, but I could go on.
ReplyDeleteOriginal Sin, The One Thing, To Look At You are all favorites and such good memories. The album Welcome To Wherever You Are had some good songs too, such as Beautiful Girl and Heaven Sent.
