Morning Wood
By the time you see this, Damian and I will on our way to Egypt, where I hope to see many men like this guy. Postings will be sporadic these next 10 days or so -- but definitely more eclectic as we explore Cairo, Aswan, Luxor, Alexandria and take a cruise along the Nile. Have a great week!

Song of the Day: 'Even Though' by Slow Children
Order singer Pal Shazar's poetry debut HERE.
I'm hearing that obscure '80s darlings Slow Children laid down a bunch of new tracks a couple years after their "Cottoncloud9" comeback album from 2016. So far, this is the only one that's surfaced and it's a(nother) keeper.

Song of the Day: 'If You Leave Me Now' by Chicago
Like every "Sex and the City" fan in the world, I'm absolutely heartbroken to read about the passing of Willie Garson at 57, after a battle with pancreatic cancer. (He worked till the end, even filming scenes for the upcoming HBO Max sequel.) Although his Stanford Blatch character wasn't featured that frequently, he still managed to star in several of my favorite moments of the series -- never more so than in the prom scene, where Stanford reunites with boyfriend Marcus, but not before shaming him over his sex-worker past, like we used to do in the good old days. RIP.
His best scene, when Charlotte fixes Anthony up with "Ed Harris type" Stanford:
Anthony: Charlotte, this is so exciting.Charlotte: Stanford Blatch, this is Anthony Marantino.Stanford: Hi, Marantino. Is that Italian?Anthony: Sicilian.
Stanford: Is that different?

Song of the Day: 'Baby's Out of Sight' by Labelle
Was sad to read about the sudden passing of Sarah Dash, who gained world fame in the 1970s as a member of the groundbreaking R&B group Labelle. She was 76, and no cause of death was immediately known. Today's SOTD is a track Dash wrote for Labelle's debut album, one of only three that wasn't a cover. (Band member Nona Hendrix later became the Labelle's principal songwriter, making this one that much more noteworthy.) I had pleasure of seeing the "Lady Marmalade" trio reunite at the Out 100 in 2008 -- the same year they put out a critically acclaimed comeback album 32 years in the making -- and feel especially thankful for that moment today. RIP.
Patti LaBelle: “I am heartbroken, as I know all of her loved ones and fans are.”
