Song of the Day: 'Needles and Pins' by Tom Petty and Stevie Nicks

Not only had I completely forgotten about this collaboration between Tom Petty and Stevie Nicks -- the inferior little brother of "Stop Draggin' My Heart Around" -- but I had no idea it was written by Sonny Bono (and Jack Nitzsche). Stevie and Tom's version hit No. 37 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1985. The Searchers had a bigger hit with it 1964. And Jackie DeShannon -- who wrote and originated "Bette Davis Eyes" -- did it best the year before.
