Kenneth, What I am about to write is no defense of Ronald Reagan but let's keep the record straight. Reagan was president of the Screen Actors' Guild and also a two term governor of California before he ran for and was elected POTUS. He's a bit more than a celebrity. That being said, he was more like Trump in his ability to digest complex issues.
ReplyDeleteIn the eighties, it was reported when taxes came up as a topic, Reagan would always go back to the fact that he could only be in four pictures each year because of the tax consequences of being in more than 4 films. That was Reagan's touchstone for the issue. The Wolff book would suggest Trump has the same type of ancedotal thinking.
