ESPN Ejects Curt Schilling

Walt Disney may have been a sexist, racist, anti-Semite, but I'm happy to see the people now running his empire aren't Mickey Mousing around where this kind of crap is concerned.

The New York Post reports:
ESPN decided it was about time Curt Schilling was on the other side of a strike three call.
The network fired the controversial baseball analyst Wednesday for providing offensive commentary on social media, following his comments and blog post on the topic of transgender people.

“ESPN is an inclusive company,” ESPN said in a statement. “Curt Schilling has been advised that his conduct was unacceptable and his employment with ESPN has been terminated.”

ESPN’s decision comes one day after Schilling shared an anti-transgender meme on his Facebook page. It appeared to be in response to the North Carolina law that bars transgender people from using restrooms and locker rooms that do not correspond to their birth genders.

Schilling, who removed the post from his Facebook page, then wrote a blog post in which he doubled down on his controversial viewpoint.

“A man is a man no matter what they call themselves,” he wrote on his personal website. “I don’t care what they are, who they sleep with, men’s room was designed for the penis, women’s not so much. Now you need laws telling us differently? Pathetic.”

I am sure he has plenty of money and would never have to work again, but it is great that they made an example out of him.
